Lifespace Communities would like to introduce the opportunity to become a Prep Cook at Harbour's Edge in Delray Beach, FL.
The Prep Cook is responsible for assisting the cooks with the preparation of meals for residents and guests, ensuring quality and safety of all food items.
A few other details about the role:
- Assist cook in the preparation of menu items as per menu requirements following designated recipes.
- Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests.
- Maintain any buffet and salad bar stations and directly serves residents and guests
- Assist in the preparation of resident room service orders and to-go/take-out orders.
- Prepare food items as needed for upcoming menu offerings.
- Ensure food safety by monitoring food temperatures and using proper food storage techniques in accordance with state and local standards.
- Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition, which may include washing dishes, cleaning cooking equipment and other areas of the kitchen.
- Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Obtain knowledge and demonstrate the principles of Living Lifespace, person directed care and successful aging philosophies and their inherent core values of commitment, respect, compassion, dedication, team work and quality.
- Team member will support, actively participate and act in accordance with the principles of the Living Lifespace service culture and be familiar with and fluent in the language and service pillars of Living Lifespace.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

- No educational requirement. Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic and understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions.
- No experience required. A willingness to learn is needed.
- Must be able to follow written recipes and instructions.
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members.
